  1 Chronicles 16:8–12 (KJV) 8  Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.  9  Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.  10  Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.  11  Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.  12  Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

  In our cultures, A LOT of emphasis is placed on earning money.  In my culture many Christians parents emphasize their children getting a good education and positioning themselves to earn a good income and they often place more EMPHASIS on that that they ever did on the things of the Lord.  The children then begin to learn that compromise with the things of God is acceptable because it fits in with meeting their main objective of making more money.   Based on Jesus’ statement, I think we can surmise that this culture isn’t the first or the only culture where wealth acquisition or even just the acquisition of certain items has been viewed as more important than our relationship with God.  If you go back and read Ecclesiastes through to the end, you will learn that our relationship with God is the WHOLE PURPOSE of mankind. When you look at scripture, a lot of emphasis is placed on raising your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  Not one word...

1 Thessalonians 5:18 THANKSGIVING READ

  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I’ll be taking a break Thursday to enjoy the blessings of life with my family.  Praying you are able to celebrate it and remember no matter what ails you, there are still many blessings you have received and are receiving from the Lord! “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit.” A little history  Washington, D.C. October 3, 1863 By the President of the United States of America. A Proclamation. The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the...

When people are right with God, they are apt to be hard on themselves and easy on other people. But when they are not right with God, they are easy on themselves and hard on others. ~John Newton

Psalm 34:8. (Click to read devo)

 A dear sister and faithful prayer partner reminded me of this verse today. Psalm 34: 6-8 6. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him , and saved him out of all his troubles.   7. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.  8. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Keeping all in prayer brother🙏 And my wife Dana sent me the following message in quotes, just before we lost contact in the storm (she is fine now praise God).  I feel it needs to be shared. “It’s often hard to stay calm and believe that everything will be alright, but true faith means trusting God even when we can’t see what’s ahead.  The same God who protected us during that typhoon will protect us now, too. This, too, shall pass and come to an end, but God’s love and protection will remain forever.” So like the old song says, Trust and Obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to TRUST AND O...
